Texas Vacation - Sunday

Sunday Chris and I went to Grapevine to the outlet mall and then to the historical old town area. It had lots of cute shops although many of them were closed since it was Sunday.

Then we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards. While we were there I got to have my picture taken on a real longhorn. Then I made Chris stand there with me so we could have a picture together.
We did go back to La Hacienda one more time, just had to have that pecan pie again before we left Monday morning.

We had so much fun and enjoyed seeing all our friends. We have decided we want to go back but this time we will actually take the boys. Maybe we will add San Antonio to the visit and stay a few more days.

Vacation - Saturday

On Saturday, we drove to Waco to have lunch with my cousin Angie and her friend Jen. They live in Austin and were willing to make the drive. Angie and I had not seen each other in about 14 years. I had stayed in the Northwest and Angie lived out of the country for most of the time. It was so fun to catch up.

Saturday night we met up with Andi and her husband Barry. Chris and Andi have been friends for a few years, they're both computer nuts (or as he prefers, nerds), and her and Barry live in Oklahoma. They drove to Dallas and we ate at a Brazilian restaurant, Fogo de Chao's, and then we went to dessert.

Vacation - Friday

Well, Friday was not much of a vacation day as I went to work, yes work. I went to visit all the people I have talked to over the past 15 years and put faces to names at our corporate office. It was so nice to meet everyone.

Chris decided to drive to Oklahoma while I worked to visit his friend Andi at her office. Here's a picture of him crossing the state line. Apparently it really isn't that far a drive from where we were at in North Dallas.

We also went to dinner at La Hacienda Ranch. The food was good, the dessert was GREAT! We had Black Bottom Pecan Pie. YUM! YUM!

Vacation - Thursday

We flew out Wednesday at midnight and arrived in Dallas Thursday morning. We were lucky enough that the hotel had a room available at 8:30 in the morning and we were able to take an early nap.

We woke up and took a drive to Frisco via Plano to just see the area. Then we got to have dinner with our great friends who had moved down last summer. I did not realize just how much I missed them until we got to see them and have dinner.

We ate at a place called Love and War in Texas. The food was great and the servings were HUGE. We had the gals sit on one side and the guys on the other. It was just so much fun catching up. We did miss seeing Aldo and Jeff, they had to work and coach soccer. Maybe next time.

Here we all are...Tony, Taja, Chris, Lucie, Wendy, Chris, Joanna, Toni.

Vacation - Dallas

Now, I know some of you are thinking...Dallas is not a normal Washingtonian vacation destination. Chris and I try and take at least 2 vacations a year separate from the boys and when we were discussing our Spring vacation, we wanted someplace that Alaska Airlines flew, that was far away (miles) and that would most likely be warm and sunny. We are tired of the cold, rainy and gray Northwest. Dallas fit the requirements and off we went. It also did help that we have friends and family that live in the Dallas area so we were able to visit.

The next few posts will be about our various adventures and include pictures. Have a fun read.

Vacation In Texas - Signs

For those of you who did not know, Chris and I went to Dallas this past week for vacation. We had so much fun. Some of the fun was the various signs for businesses. Do you see what I mean??

When we came up to our sign, I made Chris turn around so I could take a picture. For those of you in Texas reading this, we just don't have signs that advertise the adult stores.

No, this is not a bar but a jewelry store. I'd change the name. We just thought this was funny.

Secretary's Day

If you did not know it, today was Administrative Professional's Day, otherwise known as Secretary's Day. These are the bouquets I received from the people I work for. Aren't they just so cute. Thanks all!

Family Fun Center

Today Kyle, Kevin and I went to Family Fun Center for an End of Year Party for JBQ (Junior Bible Quiz) that Kyle participates in at church. The boys had a blast playing non-stop for 3 hours--Laser Tag, Bumper Boats, Go Karts, more Laser Tag and arcade games. Kyle received his award of "Most Dedicated". It was a fun end to a good season. Three of our teams qualified for Regionals with one of our teams already qualifying for Nationals by taking first place at Districts. Way to go kids!

Ladies Night Out

Tonight me and six of my girlfriends had a girls night out. We went to Bahama Breeze for dinner and then to see christian comedian Anita Renfroe. She is hilarious. If you have not heard of her, she sings all the mommy sayings/phrases to the William Tell Overture. You can find it on YouTube. Here's a picture of all us.

Kyle's First Baseball Game of 2008

Kyle had his first game today and they WON!! It was so much fun although it was a little cold but it did not rain and it was not windy. I'll apologize now for the picture quality as these were taken with my camera and not Chris' good camera.

Here is Kyle at bat.
Here's Kevin watching Kyle.

Vacation Friday

On Friday we went to Seattle for our vaction and stayed at the downtown Sheraton. We started the night at Zeeks Pizza. They have the best pizza! Then we walked over to the Seattle Center House to take the monorail back to Westlake. We walked back to the hotel and went to the pool. The hot tub was just what we needed after all our walking.

Vacation Saturday

We went to Seattle on vacation Friday and Saturday but I only have Saturday's pictures on my computer. When Chris gets home, I'll post some of Friday's pictures. On Saturday we went to Pike Place and the Waterfront.

Chris and I took some time to ourselves after being with the boys non-stop for the past 36 hours (I'll update you tomorrow, or make that later today) attending an auction with some of our friends. Here's us all dressed up.

Eclectic, inventive, and peaceful.

You are never willing to accept what's "normal." You live to push the envelope.

Aunt Kelli's Birthday

Today is Aunt Kelli's birthday. Althought it's really hard to think of her as an aunt as she's only 7 years older than I am. Anyway, I hope she has fun at dinner tonight and Kimber sleeps through the night.

Baseball Time

So we have started baseball for 2008. Between both boys, we have practice Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Today we received Kyle's game schedule and he has games Wednesday and Saturdays. Don't have Kevin's yet but I do know he plays one day during the work week and on Saturdays. Just my luck will have him also playing on Wednesdays along with Saturdays. I looked through my old pictures and found these. Aren't my little ball players so cute?

Baths

Why is it I can't get Kevin to take a bath but once he's in it, I can't get him out?

Why is it Kyle stinks to high heaven and we remind him to take a shower all the time and then when I ask when his last shower was he tells me "I don't remember?" Then I have to tell him, if you can't remember, it's time! I would really appreciate it if he took one at least every other day, especially since he practices baseball 3 days a week.

Is this a boy thing? I remember taking showers pretty often when I was young and I don't remember my mom having to remind me.

Are you Smater Than a 5th Grader?

We love that show. Although I don't like it when I don't know the answer. One of the questions tonight is, "Who invented the bifocal?" Do you know??? I didn't until Jeff gave the answer.

Another question was, "What state is Mt. Saint Helens in?" I knew this one!

Kyle says I'm supposed to add that he knew both answers!
