Independence Mine - More Pictures
Here are pictures of the boys "panning for gold" in the creek that runs down the pass. The information center had gold pans we could borrow for the kids. They had a blast looking for gold for about 45 minutes.

Your trip looks like so much fun! Dan is dying to go to Alaska someday, it looks beautiful! (And he wants to go fishing).
did they find any? even a speck?
No flecks at all. Although they did try and show us everything and anything that might be gold. It was actually cute.
